Textile art
Exhibition of textile art at Salts Mill. The 62 Group was founded, yes in 1962, when a group of textile artists got together to challenge the boundaries of textile practice and promote textiles as an art form. I’ve seen many of their exhibitions over the years. In this exhibition there was some fabulous creative work, some I liked a lot, some I wasn’t quite sure about. But what a wonderful exhibition space in the roof space of Salts Mill.
It was a lovely day for the glorious train journey from Appleby to Saltaire (change at Skipton). A delicious birthday lunch in Salts Diner (see extra) and then I had a wander round the exhibition, the bookshop and the art shop whilst Gordon went out to explore some of the old haunts from when we lived here. A really lovely day.
