Bus Challenge No 225
Alexander McCall Smith, a true gentleman - Bath Elim Church
After an early morning trip to the high street for Covid and Flu jabs, caught the bus into Bath for a highly entertaining talk by the author Alexander McCall Smith, such a brilliant speaker. At the end of the talk I went on stage for him to sign my copy of his new book. I was telling him how he was Mum’s favourite author when I found myself sobbing uncontrollably. He was so lovely and empathetic and gave me a hug, and then wrote a special dedication in my book for me. But I was soooo embarrassed with the whole room watching. I made a hasty retreat and on the way home bought myself a large tub of ice cream to console myself, like they do in the movies. In extras, the dedication and views of the beautiful church.
This afternoon I went to book a little trip that a friend and I were going to do to mark our BIG birthdays, only to find out that overnight it had sold out. Back to the drawing board! But that will have to wait until tomorrow as I’m feeling really lousy, hoping it’s the side effects of the jabs on top of the exhaustion.
Total bus journey time = 56mins
Thank you for your kind stars for yesterday’s Abelia.
