Ingrow Station

Today is Day 1 of the KWVR Autumn Steam event - so we went along to Ingrow Station to see what we could see.
Mrs MD has done a very good Blip of 75078 arriving at Ingrow from Keighly en-route to Oxenhope.
My Blip is of Ingrow Station - which is not quite what it seems!
When the KWVR preservation group took over the line in June 1968 the original Ingrow Station building had fallen victim to neglect and vandals. Such was the dreadful state of the building that it had to be demolished.  However, the group were determined to have a suitable replacement station building - and they found one at Foulridge in Lancashire.
The line through Foulridge - and therefore the station - was scheduled for closure so they bought the station building and moved it brick-by-brick to Ingrow where they re-erected it.  Today it’s a virtual mirror-image of the old building that had to be demolished.   Now that's true dedication to detail.
