A day in the life

Odd birds

I saw the premiere of a play this evening, written and directed by my friend Johan, who acted as Shakespeare last weekend. The performing group is one of the  amateur ensembles around here and both the actors and musicians did a very good job. The play dealt with questions of life, set in a small community of old birds who get fed every morning by a human but suddenly the human dies and they has to find a way of dealing with it. The play had of course both political and humanistic undertones, too difficult to explain here but I liked their work very much.

The day has been gorgeous, mild, wind-free and quite full of activity, like playing music, reading and chopping wood. It's still very enjoyable to sit outside on the verandah with a cup of something. Life is good.
