The grass is looking good

A rude awakening with wind and rain to greet us, both stayed for much of the day. A busy morning preparing beans for the freezer and juicing apples, again to freeze, a good crop from the old apple tree John keeps tidy, always providing a bf late on in winter. They are not good for eating, the juice has an edge of tartness, usually toned down with spices and honey, a pleasant drink on a cold day. 

I am amazed to see the dahlias are hanging on including a red bloom.  Plenty of cat cuddles, ironing, later visiting neighbours for a fish and chip supper.
