Thinking time
Long day today. I was up early-ish to get prepped and over to Barnsley in time for a client meeting.
I had arrived a little way ahead of my boss, so I watched him arrive and make the short walk to reception. I was shocked by his weight loss and the sheer effort that the short walk demanded of him. Parkinson’s is unbelievably cruel. My boss, and friend is only in his mid-50s. In the nicest possible way, I hope that he is able to stop work soon, but he continues through choice as he tries to negotiate a financially viable exit.
The meeting itself was a little testy in places as we went toe-to-toe over a couple of issues, but I think we’ll be able to work it through. Far more important than that was a cracking pub lunch shortly thereafter and the best Steak and Ale pie I have had in a long time.
A few firm handshakes later and I was off on the next leg of my journey to get down to Cheltenham for a meeting first thing tomorrow.
Having eaten way too much and been in the car for a large portion of the day, I explored the town for a little while and found the Minster, which is about the only photo I took all day.
Lots to think about…
