Ground bees

J&L brought Amber over early and worked here while we looked after her. She was very lively and by the end of the day R and I were exhausted. It was nice to spend time with her but we need to find more things to amuse her. In the middle of all of that I saw these holes in the garden with bees going in and out of them and realised they were nesting underground in that area, as there were lots of holes. Apparently ground bees stick around for 4-6 weeks and then move on or die if it’s winter. In the evening we went to a friend’s birthday bash in East Dean, and there are more birthday celebrations tomorrow and Sunday.
