Couples Therapy At The Beach, Folkestone

It was another glorious sunny morning so we decided to extend our early morning run by following the river along it's banks and take in the dappled light and the cold shade of early autumn. We both felt so much better having taken the time to breathe it all in.
As the weather was so lovely we thought we might as well take a trip to the seaside so we decided to head to Folkestone. This time rather than heading through the bottleneck that is Canterbury we chose to investigate the route there via the Romney Marsh. This turned out to be a rather inspired choice as there was hardly any congestion (apart from roadworks) and the coastal road went through quiet villages and characterful small towns we either had never been through before or only stopped off at briefly. This included Appledore, New Bromney, Hythe and Sandgate.
By the time we got to Folkestone itself we were really hungry so we headed to one of the food destinations on the Harbour Arm called Brewing Brothers. We settled for a pint of the locally sourced Pilsner each and shared a delicious pizza between us while looking over the pebble beach and the twinkling sea. It was blissful! This was also where I took the extra image - this striking motorbike was parked round the back and I loved how it fitted so perfectly with the hoarding for the establishment itself.
Our next step was to head towards the pebble beach nearby and that's where I took my main image. I loved how the two couples in the composition reflected each other, close but also in their own worlds and both soaking up the sun on a wonderfully day saturated with colour.
Our final walk was up the very steep and cobbled Old High Street which is so atmospheric and full of quirky shops and places to eat and drink.
Soon it was time to head home but we just had the best day and the weather was so perfect.
