An ceathramh latha deug

We made another ferry journey today - taking the blue ferry over to Arranmore, the largest of the inhabited islands off the coast of Donegal.  There is also a separate red line. At 20 mins the crossing time was considerably shorter than our last 18 hrs crossing.

T's maternal grandparents came from Arranmore and we found it interesting to explore the area where they stayed. We clocked up over 20,000 steps in the process.

Old croft houses were dotted about but outnumbered by newer houses, many of which are holiday homes.

It was hillier than I expected and we also came across some stunning beaches.

We enjoyed an exceptional good cup of coffee and shared a chocolate slice in the post office cafe before getting ferry back.

Downtown Dungloe beckons this evening.
