Return of the Cattle

We drove up into the mountains to see the return of the cows. We spent the day in Castelrotto in the Dolomites. Once a year the cattle are herded down through this town. They are adorned with headdresses and large cowbells. It was quite a sight. Before the cows arrived we explored the place, had lunch and watched dancers, whip shows with loud cracking whips and watched a cook make a delicious food which finished with flaming butter. It was a great day.
