Woodland Walk

We collected the granddaughters around 09:30 and made our way to the adventure park for the day out … it is called “William’s Den” and is near North Cave, Hull.

We spent all day there with them running around .. indoor play areas and outdoor activities..lots of building dens, climbing, swinging, zipping and crawling involved.

We were there from around 10:30 until 5 p.m. (Closing time). We did stop briefly for a pizza lunch and an afternoon ice cream treat.

One of the activities was a woodland walk..a couple of miles along tracks in a little wood…and we spotted hundreds of mushrooms..like this colony on a mossy tree stump ..there are  some others in extras. We also saw a few buzzards and loads of of dragonflies and ladybirds!!

The girls loved the walk and were very keen fungus finders!! Never let a family day out get in the way of a nice fungus blip.

Finally home around 7 p.m. and straight into their bedtime/story routine. They should sleep well … they are exhausted. There may be a chilled beer or two for madwill later.

EDIT…I have just found that today is UK Fungus Day…another new one on me!!
