Tesla eTruck.

Spotted parked on the street. The owner caught me taking a picture of this truly weird looking vehicle and looked quite pleased with himself. Why anyone would pay 99,000 dollars for it is beyond me, but I suspect it must be a man thing….

I looked it up to see what I could find out about it. It has a range of 360 miles and takes hours to recharge. It looks like visibility from inside the car would be quite  restricted. I’ve never seen one on the road but I’d be inclined to steer clear of it!

I thought I might escape the cold and that it was just allergies, but that was not to be. Good thing John replenished the supply of Kleenex! Our coffee group is becoming a dinner group and will be coming here in a couple of hours. I’m trying to tamp down the cough so I don’t sound even worse . I haven’t had a cold in years so I’m not taking it too gracefully! I told everybody yesterday that I had a cold and they didn’t seem to be too worried.i did take a Covid test which was, as suspected, negative, but the test kit has a 2022 expiration date on it so I don’t think it’s very reliable. Our local Walgreens was out of new one.

I made a Chinese chicken salad and the  others will all bring something, so we won’t starve! I might just sit in the corner quietly sipping a whiskey with honey and lemon .But no, I  really would rather have a glass of wine….

The heat is back today with a vengeance. We had a bit of a respite yesterday but it seems that the heat dome is still parked over us.

The New Yorker had a four page editorial endorsing the Harris/Walz ticket and comparing it with the other candidate. It was one of the better, more straightforward things I’ve read so far. Here is just one example of what it said:

Harris deserves enormous credit for stepping fearlessly into the role that fate has dealt her. In the face of a malign opponent she has behaved with poise, conviction and intelligence....her positions on the critical issues are rational undergirded  and by a basic sense of decency and often compelling.The United States cannot endure another four years of Donald Trump. He is an agent of chaos, an enemy of liberal democracy and a threat to America's moral standing in the world. Kamala Harris --who has shown herself to be humane sensible and liberal minded Is our choice for the Presidency.
