Z on the Beveridge Steps

Before a late lunch Z and I headed out to see the Cascade Falls, further north on the Waitakere Range. I had failed to notice the words on the web page "Track is Closed". My excuse is that the letters were red

We turned and came back via Shaw Road. Went across Scenic Drive into the continuation of Shaw Road and found the carpark by the entry to the Upper Pipeline road. We walked for a while . Saw a big Kauri; possibly near its full height. I estimate the trunk at base is about a metre in diameter, making it at least 300 years old.

A bit further along we saw the Beveridge Steps (see the extra for a little information on the steps). I got Z to stand on the seat the wee girl had sat on. Somewhat further on we turned , went back to the car, and then home for lunch
