Another survivor
I was doing some weeding and tidying in the flower bed near my kitchen window - I accidentally pulled up a nasturtium plant, as it’s roots were so far away from the main part of the plant, I didn’t notice them. I was sad to lose it, but at least it was an ordinary orange one, and not this amazing deep red one just a bit along the bed. I have only ever planted ‘Empress of India’ which has a reddish orange flower. I’m sure a botanist would know why all these different colour varieties keep appearing. I actually haven’t planted any for about five years. I really hope this one reappears,, I think it’s fabulous.
An OK day - I did my big Tesco shop. I gardened, and listened to my football team win, though with some difficulty. I listened to a history podcast (called Legacy) - about 3 hours altogether - about Alan Turing. An astonishing man who did so much good and was treated with very great injustice.
