At Corby Glen Sheep Fair

Three horses galloped round the ride,
so fast they flew into the air.
Higher and higher those horses whizzed
until they left the fair.

Up across the fields they flew,
like a Pegasus-trio with wings.
"Neigh!" they cried to sheep below
and children on the swings.

The man beside the roundabout
never saw a thing.
That merry-go-round went merrily still,
its bell still gave a ring.

No-one seemed to notice
that the horses were not there.
Perhaps there was a little too much
magic in the air?

But as the ride came to an end
the horses reappeared.
Just two children saw them land:
"Well, that was pretty weird!"
