Muddying the waters....

Today, I went into town to look at a new camera for my birthday (but got horribly side-tracked by earrings, flip flops, flowers.....and the golf.)

The more I research cameras, the more confused I get - DSLRs, bridges, compacts, pixels, resolutions.......oh, for the carefree days of my very first camera, a wee Kodak 110!

What would you lot recommend?
