Sunday Lunch

Busy on garden tasks, then laundry, reading a particularly interesting blip which is years long and is taking me a few days of enthralled enjoyment... then all of a sudden it's past time for lunch. There's no hot cooking today because the weather is still very warm. The eastern U.S. heatwave broke last night without benefit of a hefty thunderstorm or any rain. It is on in the low 80's/25's? today.
So, I am watering the most essential plants -- most vegetables who are fainting under the midday sun.
There's no cooking right now but there is time for a "Black Forest ham" sandwich with freshly grown local lettuce and sliced Roma tomato on NY deli bread.
Big iced tea & Dill pickles... that's a fast summertime lunch. Yum.
