Tom Weir

Tom Weir an author and broadcaster. Tom had a TV programme  called 'Weir's Way' rambling round Scotland and telling you the history of many places.
A came over and we decided to go to Balmaha.we had coffee and something to eat when we arrived. It was very much quieter than the last time we were there. We had a little walk along to the pier then went to  Rowardenan. I wanted to see the youth hostel as I had many happy memories there one being the time I ran/walked up Ben Lomond in a race with my friend Ina. We helped each other on the way up and down. As we came along the road at the end we decided when we got to the little bridge we would say 123 and try a run to the finishing line. As we both came over it at the same time they made it a draw and we both got a medal.
What a day and as we were too tired to walk the 8 miles to Balmaha to get the bus to gothe the paddle steamer on the loch to Balloch.
