Sunday
After a patchy start this weekend to resetting my body clock after night shifts, this morning was an early rise to hopefully begin doing just that.
Mid morning was a bimble on Biscuit with other Mrs.BB into Staffordshire to Rudyard Lake again which was a fine ride. Blip is of the shingle roof on the old Victorian boat shed. After a coffee to discuss some parenty stuff & a short stroll, resolving that bringing youngest for a walk around the lake sometimes soon might be a good thing for her, Biscuit was re-energised and pointed towards nearby Leek to find the Caldon Canal that Rudyard's water was harnessed to feed.
Finding the closest road to an aqueduct marked on the map that appeared to be the head of the canal, the sat-nav lead to what turned out to be the back end of an industrial area with a footpath leading off through a fence, not somewhere to leave Biscuit on a quiet Sunday. It also started to rain and your gal was wearing denims on the bottom half so she shrugged her shoulders and we hot tailed it back towards Greater Mancunia.
Back indoors with a cup of tea I realised that in less than an hour I had an appointment to keep in Ashton Under Lyne so tea was quickly supped, dry leggings donned & the mo-mo-car took got me there just in time.
En-route back, a couple of hours were spent at parents house to see how they were getting along having not had a chat with them since last week. One of my Aunts was there also and then after nudging her a hint on whatsapp, so was Ms.Arell on a video call which is always a fab thing*
* There is the bl**dy mileage but am grateful for the technology that helps us bridge it a little even if it's not quite the same.
After all that (day of rest anyone?!) the Leaf took me home from where youngest asked if I could join her on an evening walk. This can mean so she can vent or get something off her chest but she was quite calm & collected the whole way. We just strolled around for almost an hour in the light evening drizzle. It was really relaxing and did us both the power of good so am really glad she asked ^_^
