Praça

Square.

Lisbon may be unparalleled in the topsy-turviness of its steep streets, passages and stairways. You can often stumble on a small triangle of cobbles, with a bench, perched below a sharp incline or midway up a long flight of steps. It really is such a delight to spend a Sunday mooching about this city, although I have no idea how the elderly manage it. I assume they use the benches for rest stops.

I remember this particular triangular-shaped small praça which Ruby and I stumbled on during my first trip to Lisbon in 2016. In several visits since I’ve never been able to find it, yet I made it today’s mission to locate it and sit in it.
