Day 3 Mumbles etc
We had an early alarm call this morning as we needed to catch the train back to Cardiff to watch the half marathon. Cal dropped us back at the station and we had a good journey into the capital on a much bigger train than last year.
Kieran met us briefly before the race and then we saw him at the start, at about 8 miles and then near the finish line. The circuit is really spread out in Cardiff so it's difficult to get to different points when they're running so fast! He had an amazing time (1 hour 33), cutting 15 minutes off his time from last year, and managed to finish well within the top 1500 people (1422).
Once we'd all been reunited (easier said than done with tens of thousands milling about the city), we went to the Potted Pig for a lovely lunch. Kieran and Sioned headed home and we did a bit of shopping before leaving Cardiff. Unfortunately, the heavens opened as we were shopping and we got soaked walking to the station to get the quick train back to Cardiff Bay to collect the car. We normally walk but it was too wet.
The journey home was long and tedious thanks to the terrible weather but it didn't spoil a fantastic weekend.
