Portrait of Orla
We went to Kelvingrove today for lunch and a look around the museum and art gallery. We didn't know in advance but this was being held there today. I believe it was the semi-final, and the artists' subjects were John Hannah, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones) and Mike Kerr (Paralympian, wheelchair rugby). The standard was so high, I don't envy the judges. Lots of other events were on too, including renowned courtroom artist Priscilla Coleman who was doing portraits. Orla saw another little girl having hers done and asked if she could sit. Ed waited with her whilst I took Charles and Kirsty round the gallery. Apparently Orla gabbled on the whole time, but presumably Priscilla is used to challenges like that! The end result is very sweet, a lovely and unexpected keepsake for us. There's a photo of Orla holding her portrait on her Dad's blip.
PS: The lovely hairband comes courtesy of the very talented Mrs Pink. Thank you!
