Mono Monday : Mysterious
It’s a mystery to me why celebrating Hallowe’en has become so popular in recent years. Yes, I knew about it being an established thing in the US, but it wasn’t so big here when Miss Beewatcher was small some thirty years ago. Now I’m always sure to have some sweet treats in stock for when the local children come calling, and there seem to be more of them every year. Hence this lovely lot in the supermarket, more colourful in the extra.
The autumn event of my childhood was the ‘ Penny for the guy ‘, which has obviously died out with inflation, together with the Boy Scouts’ bob-a-job week. Goodness I’m old.
