Microphone

Isn’t technology wonderful? Errrm no, not always. These mics should enable us all to be heard with perfect clarity by our audiences, without any need for “projection” on our part. Wouldn’t be a problem for me - I was doing plays and Panto before mics were in common usage - but some of the younger cast members might struggle. In theory, the microphones mean everyone can be heard at the same volume. Unfortunately, there were quite a few issues, not least of which was that my mic was eating batteries as the on/off switch was not working, so the mic was permanently on. No idea if it can be fixed, but the battery has a life of six hours so I should be ok as long as I get a new battery each night before the show starts.
Apart from that, we managed to stagger through two and half episodes tonight - a couple of people were missing so some scenes not worth doing. Tech people still feeling their way through the show but they’re definitely getting there. I’m hoping that we have a full cast tomorrow as it would be nice to do a proper run with all costumes, props, scenery and SFX being used. It really is the only chance to get everything right before Wednesday’s Dress Rehearsal.
