Another amazing (and exhausting) day
We went to Lecce in the morning. It’s amazingly beautiful, with the Baroque architecture, the stunning churches, and the Roman amphitheatre. I’ve added a couple of extras.
We returned to the Island Sky, in Otranto, and headed to explore the town. My blip is of the castle. Horace Walpole wrote a novel about it and it's generally regarded as the first Gothic novel. (It's also referenced in Northanger Abbey and other places.) the cathedral is also stunning and you’ll never forget the incredibly enormous mosaic, or the gruesome skulls in one of the chapels.
I’ve been to Puglia a couple of times , but this trip has been even more wonderful so far.
