Leeds City Markets
I had a walk through town this muggy afternoon as I needed new slippers and a general treat.
I took a few photos at the market; a fish stall with lots of fresh mackerel. Outside the rows of market stalls are dwarfed by a JLP store and the adjoining multi-storey car park.
I waited for a bus hoping for a quick scoot home up the hill on a 7 bus, but a 36 turned up first so I joined the back of the queue and boarded a full to capacity hot bus. I felt over-dressed and over heated. I took my coat off at the lights, the lights changed and the bus lurched forward but I managed to keep my balance and dignity. A seat became available and I was so pleased to sit down. The poor driver, who had passengers going as far as Harrogate and Ripon, was berated for not stopping at every request. The 36 is a posh bus that used to be a limited stop route flying straight through to the suburbs and beyond. I think the flat £2 fare has made difference.
Eventually alighting in Chapel A I walked a weary walk back to the house.
We have very heavy rain showers this evening.
