Nicky and her Nikon

Sunflower

Thankfully I feel so much better today - still coughing (although it is lessening) and no appetite, but almost back to feeling normal. I still can't taste or smell things, and why that ever was listed as a significant symptom of Covid I don't know, as this also occurs with just a common cold.

Today has been strange weather, brilliant sunshine one moment and rain showers the next. I have had to time my dog walks with Xena very carefully so as not to get wet, and we were able to have two sunny walks today.

This sunflower is part of a series I shot today for a triptych that I am considering entering into our annual '3 of kind' camera club photography competition which is next month.

I was meant to go to the driving range with friends today but decided not to push myself just yet as I want to feel well for tomorrow.

The rest of the week is very busy for me. Tomorrow morning I will be leaving home at 6am to drive to Dorset where I am meeting the photographer Guy Edwardes and the other candidates to photograph fungi for the day. I have long admired Guy's work, I think he is just the most brilliant landscape, macro and bird photographer, one of the best. I have tried for years to get onto one of his workshops, and now like buses coming along all at once I am also doing two landscape workshops with him in 2025. Of course he is booked up years in advance, if you look at his website you will see he is fully booked for nearly every workshop he offers.

I drive back home tomorrow evening so it will be a long and tiring day. On Thursday we go to Switzerland for the weekend with friends so it's is a very busy few days coming up. Gavin is currently flying back from Australia and will be home tomorrow, he is pretty exhausted as has had a very busy trip.

For those that use the Adobe suite of software for photo editing, you can get it at half price on Amazon today. You get a code which is redeemed on your Adobe account and it adds another 12 months onto your annual subscription - here is the link.
