Saint Pargoire
We picked up friends and then the four of us drove the two hour journey to Saint Pargoire. This was to attend the swearing in of the new chaplain who will cover three departments, The Pyrénées Orientales, L’Herault and Le Gard. The process has taken about three years from start to finish, but Roy is now properly installed and seems happy with his new position. He seems popular in all three churches. We were treated to lunch provided by a traiteur. It comprised sandwiches, chicken wings, rice, vegetables, and cakes. No one was able to eat it all and we have brought half of it back for tomorrow’s sandwiches and part of tonight‘s dinner! I did not have time to explore Saint Pargoire but it seemed a typical southern French. sleepy village.
