Of all the days...

of all the days to finally open!!  I have only two sunflowers that have grown at all this year but this one is the largest standing a whopping 3 feet tall!!  the other barely reaches 2ft..  Considering I planted them at the earliest point I could this year they have taken ages to mature enough to produce a flower and they both managed on the same day... nature is pretty extraordinary.  The flower on this one is no more than 4 inches across but is positively glowing in the gloom and wetness that is today.  There are incredibly heavy showers of rain that turn on and off like someone with a garden tap.. 
My daughter still stuck on the Thames.. water rising once more.. do hope she will get to move soon.. her water will only last another week or so and then she will have to abandon ship until she can get moved to a fill up point. 
Mr S has had a flu and covid booster today so I am expecting the same reaction that he had before later.. and perhaps tomorrow but fingers crossed he will wont shake and rattle so badly this time.
