Let them eat cake

We were busy most of the afternoon so didn't have a chance to take any photos but fortunately, I had snapped this one this morning.  Having soaked all the fruits for a few days W this morning baked the Christmas Cake, and this is it straight out of the oven.  I can tell you that the smell was superb, and it looks rather good too.

The recipe says to finish it off with two teaspoons of brandy poured over the top.  Two teaspoons?  Yeah, right.  It got a tablespoon of the stuff this morning and will no doubt get a fair bit more before the big day.
