Mary Cassatt at Work, an exhibit of Impressionist paintings, pastels, and prints. We had a day in the city—good food, a pleasant walk in a new neighborhood, and a look at the work of an innovative and ambitious woman who was the only American to show with the French Impressionists. She must have been really something to hold her own with that crowd. Her drawing and mark making just knocked me out. My fingers itch to carve out shapes like that.
