Labyrinth
This spider’s web was catching the sun as Bertie and I were returning from our morning walk. It was hanging within the willow labyrinth at the Community Orchard and I rather liked the idea of this spidery labyrinth within our human labyrinth.
Back at home, it was time to harvest the peaches that I blipped on Sunday. I couldn’t believe how many there were on the little tree. Every time I thought I had picked them all, I would find another one hiding behind some leaves. They are quite small fruit and never get enough warmth and sunshine needed for them to develop a sweetness for eating raw. However, I have discovered that we can enjoy them through the winter if I cut them up and poach them gently in a sugar syrup. It took me quite a while to deal with the ninety-odd I ended up with.
