Day at a Time

Queen Victoria Jubilee Drinking Fountain

Situated in Overtoun Park Rutherglen.

We had a good evening and a comfortable night in Glasgow. This morning we enjoyed a healthy(ish) breakfast in one of the numerous dog friendly cafes near Queens Park. Flora was given a 'pup cup'. Whatever next. After tidying and securing the flat we set off for Rutherglen.

I've written before about living in Rutherglen when I was a child aged 3-6.  I have a strong memory of the house and sure enough I recognised it straight away. But oh dear it looked very sad and in great need of some love. Such a shame as it is a fine house on a pleasant street.

I also remembered the park so we took Flora for a walk there. The bandstand is in a terrible state, but seems to be undergoing restoration. The Jubilee Fountain looks, comparatively,  well cared for though. If you're interested you can read about it here

Soon we'll be heading off to the girls' school to pick them up. When their dad finishes work we'll go home for an early night. It feels as if we've been away for ages.
