Peas in a pod

We are so used to the convenience of modern packaged foods that we can sometimes be in danger of forgetting where the food comes from. Peas must be the most successful frozen vegetable: they freeze well, keep well, and taste good. I'll bet many of today's youngsters have never even seen where peas come from.

So it was a pleasure to get some real fresh peas still in their pods, and return to the simple pleasures of shelling them. Sad that the cooked product was a little disappointing.
