Pygmy Cormorant

(Firstly, thank you so much for your many gifts for yesterday‘s unexpected blip.)


The Pygmy Cormorant is only as large as the Eurasian Coot and these are new to our end of Lake Geneva. It has a longer tail than the normal Cormorant, and short, thick bill, which gives it a “baby face”. The birds often perch close to the water on stones or branches to let their wings dry after a fishing expedition just like their bigger cousins.

The wind is so strong tonight, our sun blinds have come adrift. (Extra) It’s nothing compared to Florida. Stay safe everyone.
