'BY THE RIVER OF .......'
Another very hot, sticky day here in West Somerset.
We decided to visit Dunster again today and take the 'beast' out for a run as she hadn't been used for a while. Phoebe enjoyed travelling open top and enjoyed the breeze and cool air. Traffic wasn't too bad but neverthless were glad to 'escape' up the slip road into Dunster.
Managed to find a parking space and were soon at the Gallox Bridge sign posted Packhorse bridge. Phoebe enjoyed paddling in the river, (just out of the shot), but we were pleased to see this young family with two boys splashing and having fun.
We went over a smaller bridge and followed the footpath which runs along the side of the Dunster Castle gardens. Most of the land around here is owned by the Crown Estate, and certainly most of Dunster is crown owned!!
It was getting very hot so after visiting the Castle shop, we drove back (I let Mr A drive, ) and enjoyed a light lunch complete with more Pimms. (Schorschi, please take note, we're at it again!!) For those unitiated in the art of Pimms, we use 1 part Pimms to 1 part ginger ale to 1 part lemonade. Fruit of choice, but not too much!!
Then we chilled out in the shade on our sunbeds. Phoebe didn't get a look in.
It has been a great weekend of seeing friends and enjoying the warm weather but the next week will bring a cooler wet change and I just hope not the end of our summer.
Thank you for dropping by and being a part of my life. I hope you've all enjoyed your weekends and until we meet again!!
