Somewhere different that we were recommended yesterday, Griffig, which has sections of much blockier rock, quite different to other areas we've climbed at.

I loved it there, led four routes from 4c to 5b and top roped a couple as well, including the one in the photo. Mick's leading it here and is about to jam his hand behind the flake to enable him to get to the next bolt. Neither Julia nor I managed to get quite that high, the holds on the flake were brutally sharp, and we were both lowered down in turn.

I had a good day, never having led a 5a or b before, so was well-pleased!

One of my laces snapped today, down on the toe, so I've tied a knot, but a bit sad because I love these shoes - see extra.
