Fresh

Quick phone snap at the market today. I didn't buy any of these, but considering they are turnips, they look so fresh and appealing.

I was up and out first thing on an errand I haven't done for a while: clandestine sausage collecting. The Irish lady, Corinne, who used to do it sold her business and returned to Ireland a few years ago, and the person who bought it disappeared without trace. Now Joe, another Irish person who is actually based in the Alps, has taken up the torch. He makes it all himself, takes orders online and then comes over for a couple of days in a refrigerated van packed with meat, dropping off in all the places Corinne used to do plus quite a few more. The rural layby where I and a dozen others collected our chilled parcels is still designated "Corinne's layby" to identify it. I'm not as obsessed with sausages and pies as some of his customers seem to be, but it's nice to have some Cumberland sausages now and then (we've just had some for dinner). Healthier items were selected at the market on the way back.

Community fitness session this evening, another good workout. I feel justified in lounging on the sofa now.
