The blessings of the day
Weird choice for a blip photo, but of course there’s a reason.
Elbows is in Rome.
Our 15 year old boiler stopped working last Wednesday. I contacted an old friend back last week, a parent from school gate days and waited. And waited a bit more. I don’t mind cold showers but I think the others in the house weren’t so happy.
Over the weekend, someone mentioned to Elbows that there was a great boiler engineer that goes to one of the Partnership churches.
I contacted him. He phoned back this morning and came round this afternoon. After not too long, he deduced that it was only a control unit that needed 2 AA batteries! Ha. I had been thinking huge money to replace a big beast of a boiler and it’s now working with 2 new batteries. I can not put into words how grateful I am.
And to top this joy, the man asked after our church plant. I gave him some updates and he told me how he’d been praying for us - and only on Saturday, he had prayed that we’d get some new faces on Sunday. And we got 3 adults and 2 children.
He was amazing to talk to. I think some blippers out there, from BHPCC, might just know who I’m talking about.
I also got a Lido swim in at lunchtime. So delighted to get a distance done, now that lake water is cooling down and I can’t be in for so long.
And had a gorgeous supper with MightyMouse at DougsJB and PuddleDuck’s. The DiddyOne is just a poppet.
What a blessed day.
