Belgium

It was Belgium's national day today. It was also the day the Prince Filip became King of the Belgians. After watching the new king take his oath on tv in the morning, we decided that it was too hot and busy to stay in Brussels. We went with a friend to the lake in Rotselaar instead.

A great idea, because we could cool off in the lake and we even saw some of the planes of the military parade flying over! After returning to Brussels we headed over to the yearly fireworks that mark the end of the national day. What a show! Incredible as always!

Me and my husband especially liked how this shot turned out. I don't know if you can see if properly, but the smoke surrounding the exploding fireworks is almost like some strange hairdo!
