WHILST I WAS OUT...
...at the Community Fridge this morning, Mr. HCB thought it would be a good opportunity to clear out the garage.
This all came about because yesterday when I was poking about in the garage, I happened to see some mouse droppings and mentioned these to Mr. HCB. He knows I am not at all keen on mice, so said that he would clear it out sometime. Today was that “sometime”!
Before I even left to go to the Community Fridge at 10.15, he was already out there, sorting out the mountain of stuff that seems to find its way into the garage and I spotted a pink bin - so that was good enough for me - Blip sorted! When I got home, he was still busy and the garage is looking very much better, although he only managed to sort out one side - but he did say that he pulled out the three large cabinets and swept behind them all, but found no mice, thankfully! You can see that in the second shot of my collage, Mr. HCB is smiling - probably because he has almost finished - but he says he will do the other half, on the left, next week.
Meanwhile, I had a good time at the Community Fridge and had some great chats with those who came through the door. Thankfully, today it wasn’t raining, so that was a bonus for those who queue up early. Life is not getting easier for a lot of our customers, and we just hope that we help them with our cheerfulness and a listening ear. I just hope that the Budget, which is due in three weeks, is kind to those who are the neediest in our communities.

P.S. After carefully considering whether or not to write to our GP Practice, I sent an email last night saying how upset I had been to see the word "Abnormal" against most of my results.
I had a message from my GP at 8.45 this morning telling me not to be upset by the results. She said that although the wording "Abnormal" seems harsh, it is standard wording and they only have "Normal, satisfactory or abnormal". She also told me not to panic, but that we would discuss the results when I see her on the 24th October. That's what I call excellent service! Gold Star to my wonderful GP.
