Bed Warmer

A trip to Beamish Museum today where I saw these Belling Bed Warmers.  I must admit that I have never seen them before.  Apparently they were first made in the late 1930's and were made well into the 1960's.  The bed warmer was made of metal and consisted of two shallow domes joined together.  They were heated by a 40 watt light bulb.  They were meant to be removed from the bed when you got in.

There are several for sale on Ebay at the moment at prices ranging from £10 To £49.
