”Where is J today?”
On a train, or as it turns out: on no less than four different trains through Central Europe.
The first one was delayed already before it passed through Ljubljana, which caused a massive cascade of missed connections. Things did turn out well in the end, much thanks to Deutsche Bahn’s self-service app that let us change our booking and keep track of where we were supposed to be next.
Written from a German ICE train, sprinting through the country at upwards of 300 km/h with very little drama and very respectable levels of comfort.
(Two full hours behind our original schedule, but at least we are getting there in the end.)
