Testing an old lens
It's been a funny old day.
I slept fitfully, woke at 0700, got up to make a cuppa and see to the cats, then went back to bed for a few minutes.
I woke at 1000!!!
I was due to collect Margret at 1015 so we could go to Bellingham together. I was having my Covid jab at the Pharmacy there. Margret was at my door at 1010..........and I was not quite dressed.
So it was a quick wash and brush up, dress, drink a glass of water and we set off at 1025 ish.
We were still in plenty of time. I was very impressed with the Pharmacy in Bellingham. It is a small shop and beautifully laid out. The jabs were done upstairs, unless someone could not manage to climb them.
I had both Covid and 'flu and hardly felt either go in.
(I assume they did!)
We had an early lunch at the Tea Room, which is a railway carriage in the grounds of the Heritage Centre. Today's soup was celeriac and was delicious.
Margret told me that in German "celery" is the name for celeriac because stick celery was not available there until relatively recently. There is plenty of cause for confusion then.
I've been testing out an old Canon lens on my Sony camera. (For reasons that are painful to describe - I dropped a lovely lens into a pond - I don't have the 70 - 300mm lens I would have taken on my next trip. Ouch.)
Dick and Angus were here so Angus became my guinea pig for the lens. Not bad, but actually not a patch on the other lens for longer shots. It will have to do.
I think I have woken up by this evening. I've been to Margret's to sort out an email glitch and we had coffee and a chat, so that was nice.
