Tunnel Vision

One of the many things that I love about riding offroad is that without traffic, you look up and around more.

This lovely lane is just half a mile from home. It's well-used by walkers and just a few cyclists. The slight meandering means that you normally have an uncluttered view, but the journey is punctuated with occasional meetings.

Maybe life was like this hundreds of years ago for the stock drovers passing along the long distance paths that crossed in the village. I wonder if they looked forward to the meetings or the solitude between them.
