New garden bed
A new owner but not a new property. I worked for the previous owner, when he sold the house this summer he left my contact information for the new owner. She contacted me a few weeks ago and she decided to hire me to continue looking after the gardens. A couple of years ago we planted some low growing junipers along the lake to help stop erosion. The new owner doesn't really like them, but when I explained the reason for them, she agreed to keep them if we could make the bed wider. She wants to look out and see some color from her kitchen window. I suggested we get the bed ready this fall, plant some bulbs, then plant perennials next spring. This was today's job, making the bed wider and planting some bulbs.
After we finished St came back to my place to help load the truck for tomorrow, then I had her finish planting the things I had left in the driveway. All I have to do now is figure out where I can put 2 rhododendrons. Both are seedlings from crosses made by a friend, and the flower color is unusual.
This evening I went out for a turkey dinner with the social group. 45 people for the evening sitting and I think there was 35 - 40 people for the afternoon sitting too. There were 5 women and one man at the table where I was sitting, the man is the husband to one of the women that was at the table. I was chatting with the 2 women beside me for a bit, then got into a conversation with the man. We talked about vegetable gardening and juvenile crime and how our children don't have any contact with us. It was a fun and interesting evening.
