Detour

Dee and I had planned a trip to the mountain house for this weekend and luckily it is not in an area that was damaged by Hurricane Helene.

We had to use a detour at one place and the road ended up going one lane at the railroad underpass. You never know what you might see off the main road. And we saw a big lake that we did not know about. More exploring in the future.

I talked with Tate today and he said that he enjoyed his home without lights as the night sky was so clear with stars. He saw the Milky Way. He still has one road out to get to town. He also said a few neighbors way up the hill have no power yet. It is also getting cold in the mountains. Wood heat is common and all the wood is wet which is not good for wood stove fires. So much devastation in the area a few miles away from him.
