The Ashes - 1st Test

It came down to wire, with England squeezing out a draw with only one wicket remaining and their tail-enders Monty Panzer and James Anderson doing an incredbile job of staying in for the last 40 minutes.

We finally got our Sky HD box installed on Wednesday so this was really my first opportunity to see some sport in HD. It really is fantastic. And what an exciting finish to a test match.

The Aussies dominated throuhout the match. They had four centuries in their one innings of 674-6 declared. Then had England at 70-5 this morning. So it really was a 'Great Escape'. Such a result could have a significant impact on the mindset of the players on both sides. I should think it will give England a huge boost at Lord's next weekend.
