Thursday

A fulfilling day started with a good long walk around the surrounding lanes and fields with my four legged companion.
A wind fallen apple provided entertainment for Dippy and my neighbours, Dippy eventually got a taste for the apple and patiently nibbled away at it until there wasn’t much left.
A good friend popped in briefly for a drink and pleasant conversation before we checked in on Vivienne at the farmhouse, she was sauntering up the hill having hacked down some troublesome buddleia branches!!
Masie and Dippy cavorted with excitement at seeing each other after a few hours on their own. Vivienne had suffered a sleepless night having taken some antihistamine prescribed by her GP for an insect bite, her whole abdomen and arms itching intensely.
I suggested that she should stop taking the medication and I would try and get some calamine lotion to relieve the itching.
Success was found just a short drive away and I got it to her promptly.
We then drove out to see Henri and Dippy’s canine family, Mum and Dad Bella and Reggie and of course Dippys favourite sparring partner and sister Luna. They both still live up to their original names Dipstick and Lunatic!!
Off to Torrington and collect my post, only 20% of it was useful but even the 20% wasn’t totally essential.
I bumped into lots of friends which made time disappear into thin air. A short walk down by the river provided some blip possibilities before a quick reach to my friend Margaret for a copper and for Dippy to chase her cats into the wilderness!!
Home for a noodle version of paella and a fruit platter for afters.
Popped in to see how Vivienne was doing, she looked tired out but said that she was fine.
I have received plenty of reading material and the short days are providing a good opportunity to get started on some of it.
Zzzzzzzz.
