Full bloom

This morning the crocus flower opened fully. I harvested its three stigmas, see extra photo, and dried them out. They indeed smell of saffron! This is so exciting! I am hoping that there will be many more blossoms. One of our favorite rice dishes uses 8 stigmas of saffron.
